You are exactly right in that what we have is much closer to fascism than capitalism. And what is worse, even though, as you pointed out, we haven't had pure capitalism in more than a century, if ever, the problems that arise in this "collectivist corporatism" that we now have all get blamed on capitalism and the "free market." Wasn't it Timothy Geithner, when questioned about government interference in the economy, (and speaking of capitalism) asked "So how's that working for you?"

I would answer, "Capitalism would work fine for us if that's what we really had. Your fascism isn't working out at all however...."
